2016 Election and Federalist Paper No. 68

I have do doubt that there are people that agree with those that want Republican electors to vote other than what their states want. The people that think this way love to cite Federalist Paper # 68. The Federalist Papers were essays, not law, ESSAYS.

What these same people fail miserably at is understanding that we are not governed by the Federalist Papers. We are governed by the Constitution. Here is stated the requirement for a person to be the President of the United States:

US Constitution, Article II, Section 1  [5]
No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty-five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States.

For those of you that want to argue FP #68 as being a requirement, please do 2 things:

1. Show me where in the Constitution it is stated that the office of the President must be occupied by a person “…in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications.”

2. Define and qualify “requisite qualifications”? Cite your answer.
